About Pinajo
Pinajo exists because the hard part of learning German as an adult is not the lesson. It is the six days between lessons: remembering what was covered, doing the homework, keeping vocabulary alive, and knowing whether any of it is working.
A teacher runs the course. Pinajo carries the week around it: the homework you were set, the words that are about to slip, the feedback on what you wrote, and an honest picture of where you actually stand.
Who it is for right now
Pinajo is in a private beta with a single teacher and a small A1 group. The first learners are Burmese speakers studying German with English as the support language, so that is where the product is sharpest today. The design is not limited to that group: the course model, the roles and the data are generic. We would simply rather serve one group properly than every group vaguely.
What Pinajo deliberately is not
- Not a replacement for a teacher, and not an AI tutor pretending to be one.
- Not a social network. There are no public profiles, followers or feeds.
- Not a copy of your course book. Pinajo points at pages; it does not reproduce them.
- Not a game that hides your lessons behind streaks and points.
Where AI is used, and where it is not
AI helps the teacher draft lesson plans and spot patterns in class evidence. Every draft is a draft: nothing an AI writes reaches a student until the teacher has read, edited and approved it. Students do not get an open-ended chatbot, and free-text and spoken work is never graded by a machine alone.
Your data
Your work, your feedback and your learning time are between you and your teacher. Classmates can see that you studied and how long your streak is; they never see your minutes, your grades, your mistakes or your submissions. You can ask for an export or deletion at any time.
Pinajo is an independent learning companion. It references page numbers and exercise numbers so you can find your place in your own copy of the book. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Hueber Verlag, and it does not reproduce book content or audio.
